What does the integration do?

With the Cpr.dk integration GECKO looks up the Danish CPR register using the customer's CPR number. Name and address are filled in automatically – and you are notified if the details on the customer record no longer match.

With the add-on you get:

  • Fetch name and address information directly from Cpr.dk
  • Correct customer data
  • Fast customer creation
  • Automatic check of deceased persons in connection with recalls
  • A log of every lookup – who, when and on which CPR number

How you use it day to day

  • When creating a customer: type the CPR number in the CPR field. Once the 10 digits are entered, the person from the CPR register appears in a list – select it, and name, address, postal code, city and gender are filled in automatically. If the person is deceased, the list shows AFDØD.
  • When opening the customer record: if automatic lookup is enabled, GECKO compares the customer record with the CPR register. If there is a difference, the current details are shown side by side with the details from Cpr.dk, and you choose Update with info from cpr.dk or Dismiss and close.
  • Deceased persons: if the CPR register shows that the person has died, the customer is automatically marked as deceased on the customer record.

How to get started

  1. Go to Settings and select Connect to Cpr.dk.
  2. Tick Yes, I would like to enable Cpr.dk integration.
  3. Lookup on creation of a new customer is always enabled while the add-on is active.
  4. Choose whether you also want Automatic look up when visiting the customer card etc.
  5. Set a waiting period in days. The waiting period ensures that no more than one lookup per customer is made within the selected number of days.
  6. Save with Update.

Update all customers at once

Click Update all customers on the Cpr.dk page. The function checks all customers with a CPR number and validates them against the Danish CPR register. If there are differences in name, address or deceased status, the customer is updated. You can choose to respect the waiting period so customers checked within that period are skipped.

See your lookups

Click Show lookup log to see the date, who made the lookup and which CPR number was looked up. You can limit the list to a period.

Requirements, price and responsibility

  • If the person has name and address protection, no information is retrieved. This is not an error - the protection is respected.
  • Pay attention to the waiting period if you enable automatic lookup. Without a sensible waiting period, usage - and therefore cost - can rise noticeably, because a lookup is made every time a customer record is opened.
  • Every lookup is logged. Lookups in the CPR register may only be made for a legitimate purpose, and the log is your documentation. 
  • If you use Update all customers, customer data is updated without asking you per customer. Run it with care - preferably outside opening hours the first time, as it can make a large number of lookups.
