Guides - Dashboards and widgets

Build your own dashboard with widgets and show it on the front page, on an info screen or on your intranet.

Dashboards and widgets

A dashboard is a screen that gathers the figures you run your business by in one place: revenue, number of bookings, new customers, occupancy rate and much more. You decide which figures matter to you and how they are displayed.

A dashboard can be used in three places:

  • On the front page inside the booking system when you are logged in.
  • On an info screen in the clinic or the office via a direct link.
  • Embedded on another page, for example your intranet.

There are three concepts you need to know before you start:

  • Widget: A single display of one figure or one graph - for example 'Revenue this month compared to last month'. Widgets are created separately and can be reused on several dashboards.
  • Tab: A page on the dashboard. A dashboard can have several tabs, and the system switches between them automatically. This is used when you have more widgets than fit on one screen.
  • Dashboard: The screen itself, consisting of one or more tabs with widgets.

You will find the feature under Settings > [General] Dashboard settings. The page is divided into two sections, which you expand by clicking on them:

  • Dashboards: a table of the dashboards you have created, with the number of tabs and widgets on each. From here you create new dashboards and enter an individual dashboard's setup with Edit.
  • Widgets: a table of the widgets you have created, with the template each one is based on. From here you create and edit widgets.

Both tables have an Active and a Delete column. Changes in those columns are only saved when you click Update at the bottom.

The first time you open Dashboard settings, the system automatically creates a dashboard called Front page dashboard. This is your default dashboard – the one shown on the front page. Please note:

  • The first dashboard is always the default one – this cannot be changed afterwards.
  • The default dashboard cannot be deleted. That is why there is no delete box next to it in the overview.
  • You can rename it and change all of its content.

Any dashboards you create after that can be used for info screens and intranets – but they are not shown on the front page.

If you click Edit next to a dashboard, its own setup opens with three sections:

  • General settings: the dashboard's Name, whether it is Active, and two access settings - Login required, which locks the dashboard to the booking system itself, and Limit to IP, which only displays it from certain IP addresses.
  • Tabs: a table of the dashboard's tabs with Priority (the order), Seconds (how long the tab is shown before switching) and the number of widgets. From here you add tabs and enter an individual tab.
  • Insertion code: the three ways of getting the dashboard out -Direct link for an info screen, Integrated into page for an intranet, for example, and JSON link if you want to use the data in another system yourselves.

If you go further into a tab with Edit, you can set the tab's name, priority and seconds - and under Widgets add widgets to the tab and decide their order.

If you click Edit next to a widget, the widget's setup opens, also with three sections:

  • General settings: the widget's Name (for the overview only) and the texts shown on the widget itself -Heading, Comparison text, Value prefix and postfix, plus column headings if the widget displays a table. At the bottom is Template information with the template the widget is based on and how often it refreshes.
  • Choose period: which period the figure covers, what it is compared with, if anything, and Value increase, which determines whether an increase is shown as positive or negative.
  • Advanced settings: limits on the data the widget calculates on - for example products, product groups, employees, calendars and customer groups.

Which limits are available depends on the template. The description of the template, shown when you select it, lists exactly which limits it supports.

Some of the figures have their own guide. It is placed under the module the figure belongs to:

Figure Module Guide
Occupancy rate Booking Occupancy rate
Number of bookings, online vs. backend, rebookings Booking Bookings and rebookings
Revenue, hourly revenue Cash register module Revenue
Add-on sales Cash register module Add-on sales
Satisfaction score, NPS Questionnaire module Satisfaction score and NPS

The other figures do not have their own guide - they are gathered in the overview in the next section, where you can see all the widgets you can choose from.

Below are all the widgets, grouped by the module they require - if you do not have the module, you cannot choose them. The Versions column shows which variants of the figure exist; remember that the suffix determines whether you are asked for a comparison period or a target value.

If you do not have the Dashboard settings menu item under Settings, your user is missing the Dashboard permission. It is granted by an administrator under the administrator permissions for the individual user.
